There are two practical ways to keep SanMar quantities current in a Shopify shop: update them by hand or connect a feed and sync mapped variants automatically.
Manual updates
You can edit stock in Shopify admin or prepare a CSV import when many quantities need changing. Either way, someone has to get the latest SanMar numbers, match the right style, color, and size, and enter the quantities. The work repeats whenever the feed changes.
Where manual work gets difficult
- Time: collecting and entering quantities takes time away from production and customer work.
- Oversells: a count can be outdated between checking SanMar and updating Shopify.
- CSV mistakes: a wrong SKU or column can put a quantity on the wrong variant or leave a row out.
Automated feed sync
AYBABTU connects to your own SanMar SFTP inventory feed, reads the configured file, and updates Shopify variants that you map to vendor SKUs. Unmatched SKUs can be reviewed in the Unmapped SKU Resolver. Scheduled inventory updates run about every 15 minutes, and background syncs do not count against monthly API requests.
Automation still needs a careful first setup: confirm the file columns, map the correct variant for each SKU, and review the first sync results. Products without a saved mapping should not be assumed to have updated.
Which approach fits?
Manual edits or a CSV import can work for a small catalog with infrequent changes and someone available to check it. A scheduled feed is more useful when your SanMar assortment is larger or stock changes throughout the day. Start with a small set of mapped variants, compare the results with your SanMar feed, then expand the selection.
